We are here to help
ROCHDALE YOUNG CARERS
WE HELP YOUNG CARERS AND THEIR FAMILIES
Rochdale Young Carers service has worked alongside Carers Trust In Greater Manchester since 2014. We support children and young people aged 5 ‐ 18 years, and their families, where they are caring for another family member who has a physical illness/disability or has a problematic use of drugs/alcohol. The team provide an assessment and support to ensure that the young person gets a break, meets other young carers, and that services to the family are improved.
Rochdale Young Carers also provide visits to families at home to discuss their situation; carry out Young Carer Assessments to plan what support is needed for both the young carer and the person who needs care. We provide information, signposting, advocacy and undertake group and individual work.
Referrals can be made by professionals such as a GP, social worker, health visitor or teacher, or by self referral from families. We welcome ’what if” enquiries to discuss if we can be of help.
